Responsibilities:
As a General Labourer for material handling at Darwin Event Group, your tasks will include:
- Arranging for shipping, receiving, and storage.
- Coordinating set-ups, staging, seating, parking, communication systems, and other details for special events.
- Planning and arranging for trade shows and exhibits.
- Managing event logistics.
- Wrapping goods.
- Transporting and distributing materials and goods.
- Storing cargo and materials.
- Picking orders and stocking.
- Operating a variety of equipment to load, unload, and move materials and products.
- Loading, unloading, and moving products and materials by hand or with basic material handling equipment.
- Making labels and attaching them to goods.
- Packing and unpacking goods.
- Building pallets.
- Shipping orders.
- Providing customer service.
- Organizing and maintaining inventory.
- Sorting, crating, and stacking goods.
- Installing, lashing, and securing goods.
Credentials:
- Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) Certificate.
- First Aid Certificate.
Experience and Specialization:
- Type of heavy equipment operated: Industrial lift trucks and fork-lifts.
- Equipment and machinery experience: Dollies and hand trucks, Pallet lifters.
- Area of work experience: Business, Conference and meeting planning companies, Conference centers, Convention centers, Hotel, motel, resort, Multi-purpose facilities, Sports and entertainment facilities.
Additional Information:
- Security and safety: Criminal record check, Drug test.
- Transportation/travel information: Valid driver’s license, Own transportation.
- Work conditions and physical capabilities: Attention to detail, Work under pressure, Tight deadlines, Fast-paced environment, Repetitive tasks, Handling heavy loads (Up to 45 kg / 100 lbs), Physically demanding, Manual dexterity, Hand-eye coordination, Bending, crouching, kneeling, Large workload.
- Own tools/equipment: Steel-toed safety boots, Uniform.
